Aluminium is a malleable metal which may seems unadequate to make nails but which is in fact a quality sought in some industries.
Aluminium nails are used, for instance, in trail blazing. Aluminium doesn’t oxidize and rust, even outside in a wet environment. Its malleability makes it strong enough to be nailed in a tree but soft enough to be cut in sawmills without damaging the saws.
Smaller aluminium nails can be used to fix the handle of knives. In this case, aluminium nails are sought for their lightness, the fact that they don’t rust and their shiny aspect.
